HIE has administrative offices in Inverness, Benbecula and Auchtertyre as well as local area offices in Forres, Fort William, Thurso, Golspie, Kirkwall, Lerwick, Stornoway, Lochgilphead and Portree.

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Location: Lochgilphead
Salary: £26,756 - £30,507 per annum, excellent benefits package

We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join our Argyll and the Islands area team.

Reporting to the Head of Business Growth, in this role you will provide account management support to a portfolio of business clients as well as working closely with other area team and sectoral colleagues, both internally and externally, to achieve sustainable growth for the wider economy.

You will work productively with businesses and colleagues to develop a more intensive engagement which has a central focus on accelerating business growth and supporting the economic development of fragile areas.

To be credible in this role you will have strong business awareness and experience and the ability to build effective client relationships to ensure that their existing and future development needs are met.

You will also possess outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to deliver key messages in a creative and compelling way.

This is a permanent role and the successful applicant will be based in our Lochgilphead office.

SCOTTISH LAND FUND ADVISER 

Location: Glasgow - other HIE office locations will be considered
Salary: £26,756 - £30,507 per annum, excellent benefits package
Fixed term to 31st March 2019

We have an exciting opportunity for an Adviser to support HIE’s work in the delivery of the Scottish Land Fund.

Reporting to the Scottish Land Fund Operations Manager, in this temporary role you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to community-led organisations seeking to acquire land and land assets.   Ensuring acquisition projects are sustainable by adopting a strong social enterprise model is central to this role.

The role will cover central Scotland, predominantly Clackmannanshire, Falkirk, East and West Dunbartonshire and North and South Lanarkshire, although you will be expected to work across Scotland to meet business needs.

You will bring effective project management skills and ideally knowledge of social enterprise and community-led development.   Experience in project appraisal, public funding management, grant delivery and knowledge of property acquisition and development is advantageous.

You will be a strong team player, with the ability to also deliver projects independently. An ability to speak confidently at public meetings is also essential.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Manager to join the Innse Gall area team.

Reporting to the Head of Strengthening Communities, in this role you will be responsible for contributing to the development of a high quality and sustainable community sector in Innse Gall including supporting HIE's active engagement in the Outer Hebrides Community Planning Partnership.  You will play a valuable role in working with communities within the Outer Hebrides, in fragile areas, in locality plan areas and others who are seeking to grow.

Aspects of this role may also require the post-holder to occasionally represent the Head of Strengthening Communities and Area Manager and other colleagues and liaise regularly with partners and stakeholders.

You will bring effective project management skills, with a keen interest in community development and demonstrable knowledge of local social enterprise and community activity.

Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as well as skills in project appraisal and management.  You will also be skilled in presenting at public meetings and stakeholder events.

Previous experience in the preparation of consultant/project briefs and building productive, long-standing client relationships is advantageous.

This role will require regular travel throughout the Outer Hebrides.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Development Manager to join our Community Assets Team in the Strengthening Communities directorate.

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, in this temporary role you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to community-led organisations seeking to deliver community asset initiatives as well as other community-led projects.  Ensuring supported asset-driven initiatives are sustainable by adopting a strong social enterprise model is central to this role.

You will bring effective project management skills and ideally knowledge of social enterprise and community-led development. Experience in project appraisal, public funding management, grant delivery and knowledge of property acquisition and development is advantageous.

Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as well as skills in project appraisal and management. You will also be skilled in presenting at public meetings and stakeholder events.

Working as part of a dispersed team, you will be required to work without close supervision but will also directly support the work of other team coleagues on occasion.

This is a fixed term role to 30th November 2018 and will predominantly cover the Outer Hebrides (Innse Gall) and Moray, although you will be expected to work across Scotland to meet business needs.
